Hydrocolloid blister bandages reviews

Band-Aid, Compeed, Ali-Health, Care Science, and EverOne hydrocolloid blister bandages from Amazon were compared. All of them have similar instructions and warnings as follow:

Instructions for hydrocolloid - foot blister:

  • Clean and dry skin before use, ensuring the blister area is free of creams and oils.

  • Remove the paper, avoiding touching the adhesive tape.

  • Apply cushion firmly over blister area, ensuring the edges are well smoothed down.

  • To aid adhesion, warm the bandage with your hand. Press down the edge firmly.

  • Leave in place until it starts to detach. May stay in place for up to several days.

  • To remove the hydrocolloid, do not pull upwards but slowly stretch along the skin. Remove cushion by loosening edge and gently pulling strip sideways to release the seal.

  • To ease removal, you may use baby oil or warm water.

  • Do not reapply after removal.

Warnings - use of hydrocolloid for foot blister:

  • Do not use hydrocolloid on an infected blister.

  • Diabetics and those with poor circulation should use only under the supervision of a Health Care Professional.

  • If redness, swelling, or blister does not heal, discontinue use, and consult your doctor.

  • Do not use on deep puncture wounds, fragile skin, burns, stitches, or any infected areas.

  • Do not use on children under 2 years of age.

  • Keep out of reach of children.

  • Avoid contact with eyes and other mucous membranes.

  • Do not reuse to avoid infection.
